FROM THE EAST - MARCH
Hope springs eternal! For some reason I really like that saying, and it is so representative of our Fraternity. At the beginning of our Masonic lives we spoke with a friend or a Mason in the hope of gaining admission into the Craft. We did our work in the hope of progressing through the three degrees. We became Master Masons full of the hope of becoming better men, embarking on a quest that never ends.
UPDATE ON DON TIDWELL FROM HIS SON MATT
I received the following email from Matt Tidwell and have reprinted it here.
Would like to pass this information along regarding my father to be distributed to the members of the Lodge as you see fit. As you may be aware, my father was treasurer for the Lodge for a number of years and we are both Endowed Members.
FROM THE EAST - FEBRUARY
“What’s so great about Masonry”, a non-Masonic friend of mine asked when I told him about the meetings and committees and work involved in a blue lodge. “It is a lot of work, but it is worth it,” I told him. But what makes our Fraternity so special and wonderful?

FROM THE EAST JANUARY
Happy New Year! Anno Domini 2009 will witness some big changes in our lives. We will have a new president, new challenges to our business and careers, and new attempts at resolving our country's woes. While the doom and gloom we hear every day is enough to make anyone cringe when turning on the radio, we do have some bright things in our Masonic lives for which we should be grateful.
MASONIC GEOCACHING
Have you ever wanted to go on a treasure hunt? There are close to a million hidden treasures out there for you to find. It is called Geocaching. And now there is a Masonic Geocaching Society.
FROM THE EAST OCTOBER
Life sure would be boring if we didn't have challenges! One of the most wonderful aspects of Freemasonry is its stability. Core aspects of our Fraternity appear in every lodge throughout the world - the three chairs, the lights, the alter, the Great Light. I think consistency is what makes Masonry so comfortable. Anything that crops up to change our Masonic situation is disturbing. Like our District Instructor Max Gilley told me when he taught me the work: "How many Masons does it take to change a light bulb? ... CHANGE? In Masonry?"
